Dr. Christine James, Naturopathic Physician and Medical Director
As a regional leader in obesity medicine, Dr. Christine James helps people transform their lives. She provides science-based, individualized weight loss programs to the Seattle area at Sound Medical Weight Loss located in Kirkland, Washington. Dr. James specializes in helping patients reduce and manage their weight to improve their health and overall well-being. Her medical weight loss programs specifically address many weight related conditions such as heart health, diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea and many more.
Dr. James earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. There, she developed her nutritional, dietary, diagnostic, and disease management skills. After obtaining her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine she completed nearly a year long externship with a cardiologist where she received advanced training in conventional and integrative cardiovascular care. She has advanced training in obesity medicine to address the complexities of weight gain.
Patients receive comprehensive medical assessment, metabolic analysis, and an individualized weight loss plan when they meet with Dr. James. Her holistic approach improves their overall wellness and helps them reach a healthy body weight. She addresses diet, exercise, lifestyle as well as beliefs, emotions, eating disorders and behaviors. She may recommend advanced tests for food sensitivities, weight related genetics, as well as hormone and metabolic panels, to help identify hidden factors that can inhibit weight loss to better help her patients achieve their goals.

Lauren Renee Archer, Coaching and Consultations
Lauren Renee Archer directs our Mindfulness Program. With over 25 years in private practice, Lauren is the author of Six Word Lessons on Changing Habits: How to Stop Self-Sabotage and Gain Self-Mastery. She has taught mindfulness courses in hospitals, businesses and medical centers, and helped thousands of people adopt healthier habits. Her class series, The Art of Mindful Weight Loss, provides mindfulness based, solution focused education and resources to help you maximize your success. Several of her guided imagery audio programs are included as options for our patients. Lauren’s passion is helping patients create a peaceful relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.
Ashlan Quantrille, Patient Coordinator
As our patient advocate, Ashlan is passionate about providing personalized care and attention to each individual. Her extensive experience in fitness training, customer service and patient care has inspired her to make each interaction meaningful while helping patients communicate effectively with their provider. Ashlan believes that with support and a smile, anything is possible.
Dr. Stephen Markus, Co-Medical Director
Dr. Stephen Markus brings over twenty five years of experience integrating both conventional and complementary medicine. As a practicing Psychiatrist, Dr. Markus is the founder and Director of Creekside Medical Center. His clinical practice addresses the role of nutrition and biochemistry to support patient care, recovery from addictions, and sustainable health and wellbeing.
Dr. Talia Hall, Naturopathic Physician
Dr. Talia Hall is a Naturopathic Physician specializing in integrative weight management. Dr. Hall’s background in athletics, holistic primary care and nutrition inspired her passion for helping patients reach optimal physical and mental health. She applies her knowledge in evidence-based medicine to address each patient’s unique circumstances and goals, and enjoys collaborating as a patient-doctor team to personalize what optimal health means to each patient.
Dr. Hall has additional interest in the connection between gastrointestinal and mental health. Drawing from training in primary care family medicine, she is passionate about preventive medicine, food and body positivity, accessible nutrition, and fertility support. She enjoys researching her various areas of interest as related to weight management.
Dr. Hall earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA and earned her BS in biology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.
